چکیده

The valued studies of alternative psoriasis treatment options are in a much higher need among the Scientific Community. This study aimed to evaluate anti-psoriatic activity ursolic acid cream imiquimod-induced BALB/c mice. creams containing acid, pentacyclic triterpenoid at percentages 0.1 and 0.2% were formulated. pH, spreadability, physical characteristics acute dermal irritation assessed. Animals grouped into five each having 6 animals. Clobetasol, topical corticosteroid, was used as standard. One group control four groups treated with formulated imiquimod while receiving treatment. Parameters such skin inflammation severity, ear thickness, plasma level interleukins (IL)-17, histology back spleen weight evaluated. Erythema scales scored on daily basis significantly ameliorating psoriatic-like symptoms manner comparable clobetasol. Imiquimod-induced epidermal hyperplasia inhibited by application shown results histopathology. Spleens positive larger comparison rest groups. mice exhibited decrease levels cytokines IL-17 when compared group. result this provided an insight that can be potential for psoriasis.

Effects of Topical Application of Betamethasone on Imiquimod-induced Psoriasis-like Skin Inflammation in Mice.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease mediated by dysregulated auto-reactive immune system. In this study, in order to confirm and further extend the pharmacological basis of topical steroids in psoriasis therapy, we investigated the effect of betamethasone ointment on imiquimod (IMQ)-induced skin inflammation in mice. In BALB/c mice, topical IMQ at the dose of 250 µg each on both si...
